I am the French teacher in the following fifth grade homerooms: Ms. Harron, Ms. Cramer, Ms. Anderson.
Pronouns & Verbs
A little grammar preview of what's to come in middle school: Je-tu-il-elle-nous-vous-ils-elles-aller-avoir-faire-être.
Unit 1: Natalie au Québec
Natalie is an English speaking student from Vancouver and she's spending two weeks with a host family in French speaking Québec. She will use many strategies to understand and speak French, which she has been learning at school. She visits many places around the community as well. New songs introduced: La salle de classe, Aller, Quand je vais à l'école.
During the first quarter we have worked on several "irregular verb conjugations" in the present tense. Each one has a catchy tune which helps in the memorization of the verb forms. Etre is conjugated to twinkle, twinkle, avoir is conjugated to the pink panther theme, faire is conjugated to the I've been working on the railroad melody, and aller is conjugated as a rap. Now the students are creating autobiographical verb webs, applying their knowledge in context.
Unit 2: Au Restaurant
