I am the French teacher in the following 2nd grade homerooms: Ms. Byrd and Ms. Haas.
Unit 1: Max et son crayon
We are learning all the vocabulary for classroom objects. We are learning many songs, such as: Dans ma trousse, Mon sac à dos est gros, Dans ma salle de classe, et La danse des nombres. Students will work on a project showing what goes in their pencil pouch.
Unit 2: Les animaux de compagnie
Do you have a pet? Un chien? Un chat? Une tortue? Un lapin? We will talk about what pets do (verbs) what they look like (adjectives) and where they might be (in a cage). New songs introduced: Y'a un chat a la porte and Un lapin, deux lapins.
Halloween activities and songs were enjoyed the last two weeks of October. The children absolutely love "the bridge game," we sing: Passe, passe, passera, la sorciere, la sorciere. Passe, passe, passera, la sorciere que voila!
Unit 3: Les clowns
